Christmas Holiday to be Unaffected by Economic Downturn

North Pole Software Contractor Leaks Details of North Pole Readiness

BLOOMFIELD, NJ – December 7, 2009 – Fears of the worldwide economic downturn affecting a core component of the Christmas Holiday are unfounded, according to the CEO of noted North Pole software contractor, Surround Technologies.

Leaking rare details of conversations with executives of the closely-held firm, Lee Paul of Surround Technologies today shared, “The entire preparedness of the North Pole has been uninfluenced by world events.  In fact, I can report that inventories are at projected levels.  Christmas is still happening!”

Surround Technologies may be in the unusual position of being able to offer insights into the secretive operations, as it has gained notoriety for its software development efforts with the North Pole.  Surround first alluded to the relationship in the 2006 Press Release Surround Technologies accelerates World’s Largest Non-Profit, as it purported to have modernized the world’s oldest legacy application.

Then, in 2008, Surround openly named the North Pole and Santa Claus as it completed a massive, fully integrated ERP system for the World’s Largest Toy Manufacturing Plant.  Pundits were abuzz then that the North Pole had authorized the communication and even direct quotes.  The current comments may indicate a further thawing of the public relations freeze that has been perpetual at the North Pole.

When questioned directly on this, Mr. Paul offered, “Why, I think Santa Claus wants everyone to be assured that nothing will stop Christmas from coming.  The true spirit of Christmas lives on!”  Further comments from Mr. Paul went into details of the advancing Microsoft WPF and Silverlight interface front ends into Santa’s IBM System i environment, Windows 7 Touch Screen on the Sleigh, cloud development with Windows Azure, what Visual Studio provides on top of Visual LANSA, and continued references to something about “Better Together”, like milk and cookies.  Uninterested journalists promptly left the room.

Attempts for comment from the North Pole were met only with Mrs. Claus, answering the door dusted with flour and holding a large mixing bowl, remarking, “Oh, dear, we are so busy right now!  But Merry Christmas!”
