Code for SWFL Brigade Launch

Looking for the civic technology community where you live?  Write code and help your community.  Code for America Brigades are local volunteer groups that bring together community members to help make government work better.  Brigades use technology to build new tools to help with local civic issues.  We are supported by Code for America with resources, tools and access to the wider civic technology movement.

Join us as we launch the monthly Brigade Hack meetings for Code for SWFL.  We will meet local governmental connections that will share with you what issues they are facing.  From there we have a dialog about what projects the brigade wants to work on.  We plan to hold at least monthly brigade meetings to work over time on some projects.  Use this as an opportunity to hack on a project, learn something new and meet fellow citizens interested in open government / open data.

Coders and non-coders are welcome!  Bring your laptop & charger.

An example of a brigade and the projects they are working on can be found here.
