The presenter is Professor Borko Furht, Professor and Chair, Department of Computer & Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Florida Atlantic University (Boca Raton).

The program is presented at FGCU, Academic Building 7, Auditorium 114. The program begins with a reception at 6:00 PM; the featured lecture from 6:30-7:30; followed by an hour of “meet and greet” time with the speaker. The lecture is open to the public without charge.

This year's Lecture Series features six presentations, with a balance of focus on business and academic issues. The three remaining lectures are scheduled for March 29, April 5 and April 12.

The Lecture Series was established three years ago as a strategy to increase the visibility of the growing software development community in Southwest Florida. FGCU recently expanded its IT course offerings to include a degree in software engineering, one of the IT specializations in highest demand.

The series is presented by the FGCU Software Engineering/Computer Science Program in the U.A. Whitaker College of Engineering, jointly with the Southwest Florida Technology Partnership. SWFRTP is a non-profit membership organization comprised of technology companies and technology users, economic development groups and higher education institutions united to promote and expand the regional technology sector in Southwest Florida.
